Bringing Warmth & Joy to City of Hope’s Children & AYA Cancer Center
At Alex’s Sunnyside Playroom, we believe in the transforming power of joyful, thoughtfully designed spaces—especially for young patients and families facing the challenges of cancer. That’s why we're so proud to announce our partnership with City of Hope in transforming the Children and AYA Cancer Center.
🌟 Transformative Design Guided by the Wishing Tree Theme
Through our collaboration, waiting areas, patient rooms, and hallways have been reimagined to embrace City of Hope’s uplifting Wishing Tree theme. We infused each corner with warmth, bright colors, and imaginative elements—creating healing environments that feel far more hopeful than clinical.
A Beautiful Partnership
This transformation was made possible thanks to the generous support and dedication of many, including Dr. Saro Armenian (Barron Hilton Chair and Professor of Pediatrics at City of Hope), Dr. Marcel van den Brink, Angelique Richard, and countless others who contributed their expertise, creativity, and compassion.
Reflecting on the journey, Dr. Armenian shared:
“We are so thankful for your support and proud of this partnership…transforming lives together.”
What We’ve Achieved
Vibrant waiting rooms that calm nerves and inspire positivity
Cozy patient rooms where children and families find comfort
Welcoming hallways that encourage imagination and hope
By bringing City of Hope’s Wishing Tree concept to life, we’ve created spaces that help families feel supported and uplifted during difficult times.
Join Us in Celebrating
We are profoundly grateful to everyone who joined us in this endeavor. Whether you contributed time, design, funding, or moral support—thank you for helping us make a tangible difference in the lives of young cancer patients.
Together, we’ve built more than just a physical space: we’ve planted seeds of joy, resilience, and hope.
